Lakeland One of the Fastest Growing Cities that is Still Affordable - September 22, 2005
A recent MSN Money article listed Lakeland, Florida as one of the 12 fastest growing cities that are still affordable.
In any boom market, true bargains get harder and harder to find. As prices rise, investors have two basic choices: Go along with the herd, or dig even deeper to find values others have (so far) missed....Then there are the less obvious places that have been overlooked or beaten down before suddenly springing to life. Witness this list of towns that were latecomers to the real-estate party but where values have recently zoomed
The article lists Lakeland along with cities such as Phoenix, Pensacola and Tucson to name a few.

Free WiFi Locations in Lakeland? - September 5, 2005
In the next few months I will be spending more time working in the Lakeland area and need some suggestions for free WiFi locations (I prefer a virtual office). I know about SurfLakeland in the downtown area and Panera Bread, but I am hoping that some EMERGE members can suggest some other locations. Any ideas?
Update: Mitchell's Coffee now has free wifi.
