FSC-Director of Donor Relations

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Director of Donor Relations
Florida Southern College

Reports to: Vice President for Advancement
Qualifications: four-year degree in business or communications, 3 years’ experience in fundraising or management.

Description of position: The Director of Donor Relations is responsible for planning and managing events and communications for all development activities and serves as the coordinator for stewardship activities and communication with all donors.

Essential job requirements:

1. Assist with planning and oversight of all development-related special events and stewardship program.
2. Oversee stewardship, communication and activities for the College's scholarship program, including communication with donors, scholarship recipients, academic departments, and the Office of Financial Aid and coordinating annual scholarship event
3. Coordinate all activities of and communication with the President’s Council and the National Alumni Board of Directors
4. Assist with annual fund as needed.

Other duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Advancement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Interpersonal Skills: The Director of Donor Relations must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written; exemplify a professional demeanor; be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse personal styles; have good telephone and customer service skills; possess a high degree of flexibility in interaction with people; maintain a positive attitude; demonstrate the ability to keep confidences when necessary; have excellent event-planning and coordinating skills, and have the ability to handle diverse types of work assignments.
Required: Computer literate; well-developed organizational skills, especially in planning and organization; strong management skills.
Desirable: Knowledge and experience with Florida Southern College.
