Hello Emerge Members! The Imperial Polk Advertising Federation has invited us to join them for their annual Kringle Mingle holiday mixer and auction at 6 p.m. November 30 at the Lakeland Center. If you’re in business, you could score some radio, print, creative, or billboard advertising way below regular industry prices. There will also be many unique gift opportunities on the block including spa treatments, concert tickets, and sports memorabilia. Lakeland Senior High Football Game - October 26, 2007

EMERGE Lakeland Member Special Opportunity

Where: Lakeland High School Football (on Lakeland Hills Blvd.)

When: November 2, 2007
Check In 6:15-6:30pm
Pre-Game meal and reception starts at 6:30pm
Game starts at 7:30pm

What: November 2nd pits the #1 in 5A football Lakeland High School against the #2 Kissimmee Osceola. Last year the Kissimmee Kowboys almost pulled off an upset in a 7-0 Defensive battle. This year Kissimmee returns nearly 12 starters from last years team and is even more ready to upset the Dreadnaughts. In a game that has playoff implications, the excitement in the air will most definitely be heavy. Come join in the pageantry of Florida football at its finest. It will be an evening worth remembering, from one of the best high school stadiums in the nation to its state of the art jumbo tron. You will be entertained from the pregame interviews to the post game celebration. Come see why the Dreadnaughts are truly Nulli-Secundus (Second to None)!

Cost: $20 – includes ticket (1), parking (1 vehicle), and pre-game meal. If you are riding in a vehicle with another person the cost is $15 – includes ticket (1) and pre-game meal.

Payment: Cash is preferred, but checks are acceptable if made out to Lakeland Football Century Club.

Directions: Parking - Enter off Lakeland Hills Blvd., if you've RSVP'd your name will be on the list. You will pay at the check in table and get your ticket and be directed to proceed into the Henly Field for the pre-game food reception.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Director of Donor Relations
Florida Southern College


Reports to: Vice President for Advancement
Qualifications: four-year degree in business or communications, 3 years’ experience in fundraising or management.

Description of position: The Director of Donor Relations is responsible for planning and managing events and communications for all development activities and serves as the coordinator for stewardship activities and communication with all donors.

Essential job requirements:

1. Assist with planning and oversight of all development-related special events and stewardship program.
2. Oversee stewardship, communication and activities for the College's scholarship program, including communication with donors, scholarship recipients, academic departments, and the Office of Financial Aid and coordinating annual scholarship event
3. Coordinate all activities of and communication with the President’s Council and the National Alumni Board of Directors
4. Assist with annual fund as needed.

Other duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Advancement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Interpersonal Skills: The Director of Donor Relations must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written; exemplify a professional demeanor; be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse personal styles; have good telephone and customer service skills; possess a high degree of flexibility in interaction with people; maintain a positive attitude; demonstrate the ability to keep confidences when necessary; have excellent event-planning and coordinating skills, and have the ability to handle diverse types of work assignments.
Required: Computer literate; well-developed organizational skills, especially in planning and organization; strong management skills.
Desirable: Knowledge and experience with Florida Southern College.

Director of Development
Florida Southern College

Reports to: Vice President for Advancement
Qualifications: five years experience in office management, preferably with a background in not-for-profit fundraising; bachelor's degree

Description of position: The Director of Development is responsible for the daily management of the development program.

Essential job responsibilities:

1. Manage all development staff.
2. Assist the vice president for advancement with planning the overall development strategy for the institution, including the identification and cultivation of new prospects.
3. Track all operations of the annual fund, the major gifts campaign, and capital projects.
4. Oversee the planning and implementation of all donor events.
5. Manage a portfolio of mid-level and major gift prospects.

Other duties:
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Advancement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
