Meals On Wheels needs South Lakeland Drivers - May 26, 2011
Meals on Wheels of Polk County has been delivering meals for almost 2 years to the Auburndale and Lakeland areas, 35 years to Winter Haven, Haines City, and Davenport. They have approximately 200 recipients in Polk County. Their volunteer drivers tell them the blessing is theirs and they enjoy helping people. The reward is knowing you are helping to stop senior hunger.
Meals on Wheels of Polk County is desperately seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals in South Lakeland. Their goal is to provide a hot nutritious meal, daily contact and a smiling face to the homebound of Polk county. Drivers typically drive 1 day a week and it usually takes them about 2 hours once they pick up the meals to be delivered. There are 4 routes in Lakeland with each route having 8-10 stops.
Meal Pickup Locations:
South Lakeland - 1st Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Dr.
North Lakeland - North Lakeland Presbyterian Church, 6725 North Socrum Loop Rd.
