YMCA Board Opportunity - July 9, 2012
YMCA Board Opportunity:
•The YMCA Board currently has 15 members and is looking for new people who can bring energy, and new ideas to the table.
•There is no deadline but would be willing to sit down and tell the ‘Y’ story to anyone who would have an interest.
•The YMCA is a great community partner that is much, much more than a fitness center as it serves the entire community. The YMCA will never turn anyone away for a lack of ability to pay. The Y ‘scholarships’ close to $600,000 in free and subsidized memberships and programming each year. The Y’s motto is Mind, Body & Spirit.
•The board meetings are held the 3rd Tues of each month at the Y on Cleveland Heights and meeting generally are one hour long.
•It is a 3 year term.
•It is a working board and the 2 main community events are the Barkley, Bean & Friends Golf Event at the First Tee on George Jenkins Blvd and the newest event with the Pouncey twins silent auction and program.
