AMIkids is a non-profit dedicated to helping troubled youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. AMIkids’ mission is to protect the public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of a diverse and innovative staff. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities and families.

General Description of Duties
The Business Manager assists the Executive Director in the administration with various program functions, e.g., personnel management, financial management, board relations, fund raising. Employee maintains confidentiality of sensitive information, facilitates efficient program operations, and assists in creating an effective work environment. Position may supervise entry level support staff.

Primary objective is to support the AMIkids’ mission and Personal Growth Model, providing a safe and successful learning environment for troubled youth, while encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education or related field; supplemented by one (1) to two (2) years management experience; or any combination of education, training and experience equal to or greater than defined regulatory requirements.


Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions and finger dexterity, and which involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds). Tasks may involve the intermittent performance of extremely physically demanding work, involving restraining procedures and physical intervention using a nationally recognized or state required nonviolent technique (weight exceeding 150 pounds).

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Must satisfy criminal background check and drug screening as defined by state requirements.
Must satisfy physical abilities and medical testing as defined by federal regulations.
Must obtain and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state requirements, e.g., Protective Action Response (PAR), Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM).
Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification by nationally recognized organization.
Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license in the state of employment; may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsement.
Must successfully complete online Business Manager testing, e.g., Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Business Writing, and Accounting terminology.

Title: Kitchen Manager

Direct Charge Over: Hourly Back of House (B.O.H.)

Summary of Position:
Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of
quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation,
plate presentation, portion and cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the
restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
- Assist GM in making employment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring,
evaluating and disciplining kitchen personnel as appropriate.
- Provide orientation of company and department rules, policies and procedures and oversee
training of new kitchen employees.
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and
timely manner.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal
inspection and by following the restaurant's preventative maintenance programs.
- Work with restaurant managers to plan and price menu items. Establish portion sizes and prepare
standard recipe cards for all new menu items.
- Ensure that all products are ordered according to predetermined product specifications and
received in correct unit count and condition and deliveries are performed in accordance with the
restaurant's receiving policies and procedures.
- Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas,
product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.
- Oversee and ensure that restaurant policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and
completed on a timely basis.
- Notify GM of labor requirements for special events and catering.
- Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and
consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
- Oversee the training of kitchen personnel in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Responsible for training of all restaurant personnel in cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety
practices.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules.
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
- Provide safety training in first aid, CPR, lifting and carrying objects and handling hazardous
materials.
- Maintain and update inventory checklists.
- Maintain and update opening and closing checklists.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties determined by G.M.

Qualifications:
Be 21 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a vehicle and the ability to make deliveries.
Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the
restaurant's trading area.
Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least two years of back-of-the-house operations experience in management positions.
Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to five hours).
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have the stamina to work 45 - 50 hours per week.

This is a new position and the selected applicant will have great latitude to work across a
variety of disciplines that include Urban Planning, CRA Planning and Projects, Project

This is a highly responsible, fulltime professional position assigned to the Health Promotion and Preparedness Division of the Polk County Health Department and is responsible for coordinating youth and young adult tobacco prevention and control activities at the county level. The activities focus on: (1) preventing initiation among youth and young adults; (2) eliminating secondhand smoke exposure and; (3) promoting cessation from tobacco use. This position serves as a liaison between the county health department, headquarters, and the Statewide SWAT Coordinator. This position requires the ability to work independently and to work with youth, young adults, and adults. Public speaking and coalition building skills are required; policy development, marketing, and public relations experience is preferred. The person in this position must also have a working knowledge of computers and possess word processing skills. This position requires occasional travel and weekend and evening hours. This is a tobacco-free position, and a background check will be required.

Preventing Initiation Among Youth and Young Adults (60%)

Actively promote Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) activities in schools, churches, community-based organizations, malls, and other areas where youth congregate.
Recruit youth for participation in Polk County SWAT and the Tobacco-free Community Partnership following the partnership work plan and guidelines set forth by the DOH Community –Based Interventions Program.
Work with local schools and youth organizations to plan and implement anti-tobacco activities and youth advocacy programs.
Work with school administration and staff to establish and maintain SWAT teams in middle and high schools.
Recruit SWAT advisors at schools and other community-based organizations to establish and maintain SWAT clubs.
Work with local colleges to plan and coordinate anti-tobacco activities and advocacy programs.
Assist SWAT youth in planning, implementing, and completing activities related to SWAT and the Tobacco-free Community Partnership.
Attend and participate in Polk County Tobacco-free Community Partnership meetings.
Coordinate and attend all countywide SWAT meetings and events.
Serve as a mentor to SWAT youth by providing a positive role model of effective leadership and empowerment.
Attend individual school SWAT team meetings as time allows or as needed.
Correspond with youth via appropriate media regarding meetings, presentations, events, and programs.
Provide resource information/materials to assist SWAT advisors and clubs in accomplishing goals set forth in partnership work plan.
Coordinate transportation for youth members to meetings and tobacco prevention activities/events as needed.
Transport and chaperone youth volunteers/advocates to local, regional, state and/or national tobacco prevention and control trainings, events, meetings, functions or activities, etc, upon receipt of written parental consent. Transport may be with a state or county vehicle, with the employee’s own personal vehicle or rental vehicle.
Work with youth to develop team and membership guidelines and by-laws.
Support and assist law enforcement activities limiting youth access to tobacco products through retailer compliance checks.
Promote youth empowerment by facilitating activities to increase knowledge of tobacco issues and prevention; advocacy training and policy development.
Secondhand Smoke and Cessation (25%)

Promote the Florida QuitLine and local tobacco cessation services to the community.
Assist the Tobacco Program Manager to develop and implement counter-marketing strategies.
Assist the Tobacco Program Manager to develop policies for local businesses and public areas, to effectively reduce tobacco use, access to tobacco products and exposure to secondhand smoke.
Coordinate youth media activities with Department of Health Access and Tobacco (DHAT) marketing program and Polk County Health Department Public Information Officer.
Coordinate program activities with the Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention staff, WIC, and other health department staff as needed.
Represent the County Health Department at community events and functions.
Provide administrative support for tobacco prevention and control for the Tobacco Program Manager.
Other (15%)

Attend required team meetings, training and in-service programs for job competency. Completes all mandatory trainings as required.
Maintain computer competency necessary for job performance.
Submit regular reports as required to ensure appropriate progress on work plans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Emergency Duty: Incumbent may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. In some cases these employees may be approved to do work from home. All of the special circumstances outlined above must have prior approval by the Executive Director or Board President. (This Classification would apply to part time employees - Marketing Coordinator and Prevention Specialists).

Category 4100 - Employee must work 35 hours per week. Hours vary depending on evening classes, weekend events and early morning speaking engagements. When there are no "after hours" activities, the employee is expected to work 8:30 -4:30, Monday through Friday in the DPRC offices. When there are evening or weekend activities, the employee may adjust their schedule during the week to keep within the 35-hour requirement. In some cases these employees may be approved to do work from home. All of the special circumstances outlined above must have prior approval by the Executive Director or Board President. (This classification applies to full time Outreach Workers and Full Time Prevention Specialists - note Teachers option would mean 40 hours/week instead of 35)

Category 5100 - Employee works set number of hours as dictated by the Executive Director. Employee may select their schedule on a bi-monthly basis and submit it to the agency's Program Coordinator. This schedule may vary from week to week. All appointments and/or other interruptions to the work schedule must be done when the employee is off the clock. Changes to the work schedule must be reported promptly to the Program Coordinator in order to notify DCF. All work that is submitted must be performed either on location in the field or en route to work site. (This classification applies to all part time Outreach Workers)

Ability to use independent judgement, analyze information and formulate recommendations. Ability to prepare budgets and tactical sales strategies. Ability to coordinate and plan meetings, conferences and special events. Skilled in word processing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited four (4) year college or university and have a minimum of three (3) years sales, marketing or business related experience. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to secure a valid Florida drivers license at the time of employment. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

JOB LOCATION: Tourism/Sports Marketing Office- Bartow, FL

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday

HIRING RATE: $18.09 per hour - (Pay Grade 21/0346)
